Training courses: Axis, Axis2, Web Services, Java EE
Besides working as a software architect, developer and consultant I frequently provide training courses and workshops. All training materials have been created by myself and are based on practical experience in real-world projects. To make sure training materials are up-to-date, they are regularly updated and extended.
One of the most important goals is that all students will be able to independently apply and use the covered technologies in their projects after completing the training course. Therefore numerous practical exercises are an important part of all my training courses.
Below you'll find some suggestions for training courses. The agendas are flexible and can be customized to your interests and needs. You decide about the duration of your course and it's you who decides about the agenda, selecting from a range of available training modules. This is to make sure that the course will only deal with the topics you are interested in and that topics not relevant to you are excluded. It is even possible to combine modules from different training courses to create an entirely new new course.
So are you looking for a training course that is perfectly tailored to your needs? Date, time, length and location... all by arrangement. Let's talk about it!

NEW Fundamentals of interoperable Web service applications (1 day)
One of the key benefits of Web service technology is its ability to integrate
heterogeneous systems and to solve interoperability issues. However, many developers get stuck when using web
services in their applications, as the technology often introduces new problems concerning interoperability.
In many cases, the reason for these problems can be found in the development approach they used.
In this workshop you’ll learn all you need to know about the Contract First approach and how to create
web service applications with much better interoperability, sailing around many hidden traps. You will learn
how this approach can be applied when using Java to develop your applications and what tools can be helpful
along the way. We’ll spend most time of the day doing practical exercises, practising each step of the
Contract First approach and developing a complete sample application.
Fundamentals of Web services and SOA (1-3 days)
This training course is targeted at newcomers to the world of Web services and service-oriented architectures (SOA). Learn everything you need to know about the service-oriented approach, benefits and challenges, and the difference between SOA and Web services. Fundamental Web service technologies such as SOAP and WSDL will be introduced, but we will also talk about more advanced standards and technologies, architectures, topologies and required organisational changes. Other important topics include patterns and best practices, business process management and SOA security.
